As CEO of the Information Technology Authority, Dr Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi is responsible for the implementation of the Digital Oman Strategy. In more than 18 years of his career in the IT field, he has held different technical and managerial roles in the Sultanate of Oman. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in March 1987 and led the IT initiatives in the ministry.
He gained diplomatic experience by joining the Sultanate's Diplomatic Corp as the First Secretary at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Washington DC from 1998 to 2003.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Mathematics from Lindenwood University of St Charles Missouri, a Master’s in Information Systems Technology from George Washington University and a Doctorate in Information Systems and Communications from Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh; all USA.
